“Two mile-long pipelines were successfully floated into place this month as workers installed the outfall for a $1.6-billion wastewater-treatment plant now under construction near Seattle. Triton Marine Construction Corp., Bremerton, Wash., attached the first pipe to an onshore connector and completed the controlled submergence that lowered the pipe 600 ft to the bottom of Puget Sound. The second pipe was placed Sept. 11.
